KP governor, PTIP chief discuss emerging political situation
Former CM also informed Kundi of his reservations about levying the taxes in former Fata and Pata and issues of people
NOWSHERA: The leaders of Pakistan People’s Party and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf-Parliamentarians (PTIP) again met for the second time in a week and discussed the emerging political situation of the country on Sunday.
A delegation led by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi and KP former chief minister Mahmood Khan met at the Islamabad Club and thoroughly discussed a host of issues being confronted by people of the province.
Besides others, former federal minister Sajid Hussain Turi was also present at the meeting. It was learnt that Governor Kundi was holding meetings with other political parties in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on the special directives of President Asif Ali Zardari and Pakistan People’s Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari to find out a viable solution to the problems of KP people, including the merged districts.
The former CM also informed Kundi of his reservations about levying the taxes in former Fata and Pata and issues of people, including electricity and gas loadshedding, arrears of the net hydel profit, minerals, water resources, unemployment and others.
The PTIP leader said that his party believed in democracy and he was ready to work with other political parties to steer the country out of the prevailing morass.
The PPP leaders asked the PTIP leader to join hands with them to jointly work for the rights of KP. Mahmood Khan said that he was ready to work with anyone willing to work for the rights of the province.
He also agreed to hold a meeting with President Asif Zardari soon.
It may be mentioned that Mahmood Khan had held a meeting with Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PMLN) leaders Amir Muqam and party chief whip Dr Tariq Fazal Chaudhry and had discussed with them various issues, including development projects and law and order situation in the province.
