LWMC takes effective steps to ensure cleanliness in City

LAHORE : Lahore Waste Management Company (LWMC) has ramped up its efforts and officers started to pay surprise visits to ensure a clean environment across the city.

LWMC Chief Executive Officer Babar Sahib Din on Saturday has directed the officers to conduct surprise field inspections. In response to directives from Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, LWMC was diligently executing comprehensive cleanliness arrangements in every street and area of the provincial capital.

LWMC cleaning teams were actively engaged in clearing over 5,000 containers during the morning shift, targeting both commercial markets and residential areas for zero waste management.

According to LWMC spokesperson Umar Chaudhary, special cleaning teams were active in key areas like Data Darbar, Lorry Adda, Azadi Chowk, Chauburji, Secretariat, Baba Ground and the Railway Station. The ongoing cleaning operations are covering the areas of Shahdara, Ravi Town, and other key entry and exit points of the provincial capital.

Additionally, mechanical sweeping was underway at major roads such as Main Boulevard Gulberg, Canal Road, Jail Road, and The Mall. The process of manual and mechanical sweeping is going on all the major roads of the city.
