CHARSADDA: The police claimed to have arrested three accused involved in the murder of a cop, who had been kidnapped some one and a half years ago.
Speaking at a press conference, Superintendent of Police (investigation), Ihsan Shah, said that a constable of Peshawar police named Nasir Khan, a resident of Parang, had gone missing some 18 months ago.
His brother Nauroz Khan approached every forum to register a case about the disappearance of his brother but failed to do so despite hectic efforts.
Later, he filed a case in the Commission of Enquiry on Enforced Disappearances, which directed the Charsadda police to register a case about the disappearance of his brother.
The local police then registered a case against unidentified accused on May 9 last and started an investigation.
The SP said that the police arrested three accused named Jawad, Raveed and Sajid Khan, who confessed to have murdered Nasir Khan after his kidnapping.
He said that the accused had first kidnapped the cop and later murdered him and then thrown his body into the river.
