NA speaker appoints three standing committees
The three standing committees met at the Parliament House
ISLAMABAD: Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq has appointed three standing committees under Rule 215 of the Rules of Procedure and Conduct of Business in the National Assembly, 2007. The three standing committees were on information and broadcasting, maritime affairs and communications.
The three standing committees met at the Parliament House.
The Standing Committee on Information and Broadcasting met with Syed Naveed Qamar in the chair. The committee considered “The Pakistan Broadcasting Corporation (Amendment) Bill, 2023” (Ord. No. II of 2023).” After detailed deliberations, the committee unanimously passed the bill with amendments. MNAs Syed Amin-ul-Haq, Bilal Azhar Kiyani, Noor Alam Khan and Muhammad Awn Saqlain, and officers from the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Ministry of Finance and Ministry of Law and Justice attended the meeting.
The meeting of the Standing Committee on Maritime Affairs was held Thursday under the Chairmanship of Bilal Azhar Kiyani. The committee considered “The Pakistan National Shipping Corporation (Amendment) Bill, 2023” (Ord. No.III of 2023). After detailed deliberations, the committee unanimously passed the bill with amendments. The meeting was attended by the MNAs Syed Amin-ul-Haq, Syed Naveed Qamar, Noor Alam Khan and Muhammad Awn Saqlain.
The meeting was also attended by officers from the Ministry of Maritime Affairs, Ministry of Finance and Ministry of Law & Justice.
The meeting of the Standing Committee on Communications was held under the Chairmanship of Syed Amin-ul-Haq. The committee considered “The Pakistan Postal Services Management Board (Amendment) Bill, 2023” (Ord. No.IV of 2023) and “The National Highway Authority (Amendment) Bill, 2023 (Ord. No.V of 2023). After detailed deliberations, the committee unanimously passed both the bills with amendments. The meeting was attended by MNAs Syed Naveed Qamar, Bilal Azhar Kiyani, Noor Alam Khan and Muhammad Awn Saqlain.
The meeting was also attended by officers from the Ministry of Communications, Ministry of Finance and Ministry of Law & Justice.
