Call for tackling environmental challenges together
Chief Executive Officer Karachi Water Sewerage Corporation (KWSC) Engineer Syed Salahuddin Ahmed has said in a message issued on the occasion of World Environment Day that the day “reminds us to protect our land, sea, and natural environment around us”.
He said on Wednesday the water corporation is busy in completing the green energy project under a public-private partnership, which will have positive effects on the environment, because there is a dire need to promote sustainable land management and water conservation practices in Pakistan.
Therefore, he said, on the occasion of World Environment Day, “let us reiterate our commitment to environmental protection and tackle environmental challenges together to provide a healthy, safe and sustainable future for our future generations, it should be noted that the theme of this year’s World Environment Day is ‘Restoration of Earth’s Fertility, Prevention of Desertification and Control of Drought.”
