Maryam opens Kissan Card registration process
Five lakh farmers in Punjab, owning up to 12.5 acres of land, will be able to benefit from this project
LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, while launching the Kissan Card registration process on Tuesday, said it was her commitment to increase productivity and prosperity of farmers, adding that under the project, agricultural loans of Rs300 billion would be given to farmers annually.
The chief minister said five lakh farmers in Punjab, owning up to 12.5 acres of agriculture land, will be able to benefit from this project. To apply for the card, land must be registered in the Land Record Centre and mobile SIM registered against the applicant’s own CNIC number. Every farmer will be able to get an easy loan of up to Rs1.5 lakh for one crop, using the Kissan Card. Farmers will be able to buy fertilizers, seeds and other agricultural inputs with the card.
Meanwhile, chairing a meeting to review the progress on the construction, expansion and rehabilitation of roads in the province, the CM directed meeting the deadline for all road projects across Punjab. She was briefed about the progress made so far in the roads maintenance program and construction and maintenance of five major expressways in Punjab.
Meanwhile, Maryam Nawaz, in a meeting with Ambassador of Qatar to Pakistan Ali Bin Mubarak Al Khater, said she wanted to promote economic relations between Punjab and Qatar. PMLN President Nawaz Sharif was present in the meeting which discussed possible investment opportunities in Punjab, labour force supply from the province and other matters of mutual interest.
Also, the chief minister, along with provincial ministers and members of provincial assembly, on Tuesday inaugurated “Maryam Ki Dastak App” at an event held at a local hotel here. At the NUST stall, a robot greeted her and gave a briefing on Dastak App. At the ITU stall, she had a virtual inspection of the Dastak Office in the Arfa Karim Tower through Metaverse Technology.
She was briefed by authorities that all citizens including senior citizens, women, sick and disabled people will initially get 10 services at their doorsteps through “Maryam Ki Dastak App”. These services include domicile, e-stamping, birth certificate, death certificate, marriage certificate, divorce certificate, motor vehicle transfer, property tax, token tax and new vehicle registration. A dedicated number, mobile app and public portal were being provided to the citizens for availing these services. The citizens can order services through Web Portal, Mobile App or Call Centre 1202.
