Art exhibition on Pak-China cultural ties opens
LAHORE:An exhibition celebrating the cultural and environmental ties between Pakistan and China opened at the University of Home Economics (UHE) here Tuesday.
Mr Zhao Shiren, Chinese Consul General in Lahore, and Prof Dr Faleeha Zahra Kazmi, Vice-Chancellor of UHE, jointly inaugurated the exhibition. The exhibition features artwork by university students and faculty members, including Ahmed Faraz and Muhammad Ashfaq that explores both the rich cultures and environmental challenges faced by both the nations.
Consul General Zhao praised the exhibition, highlighting its contribution to fostering friendship and understanding between Pakistan and China. He expressed the Chinese consulate's enthusiasm for continued collaboration on such initiatives, believing these joint efforts will further strengthen the long-standing relationship between the two countries.
Prof Kazmi emphasised UHE's commitment to empowering students, promoting cultural appreciation, and encouraging healthy living. She linked the exhibition to the upcoming No-Plastic Day, urging everyone to reduce plastic use, particularly plastic bags, which are major environmental and health concerns in Pakistan. She concluded by stressing the importance of guiding young people towards healthier habits for a better future.
Chinese team visits PU
A delegation from Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Beijing, visited Punjab University Pakistan Study Centre (PSC) here on Tuesday.
The delegation comprised of Tong Tao, Li Dongdong and Ms Ai Wanqiao which was welcomed by Director PSC Prof Dr Naumana Kiran. Associate Professor Dr Amjad Abbas Magsi and others were also present on the occasion.
An interactive discussion on prospects of academic cooperation and research endeavours took place. The delegation was informed that the Institute of Belt and Road was established at Pakistan Study Centre in association with Jiangsu Normal University, China and scholars and student’s exchanges have taken place under this linkage. The delegation showed deep interest in the activities carried out by the centre.
