FGCTA elects president

Islamabad: The Federal Government College Teachers Association (FGCTA) has elected its new leadership for a term of two years.

Dr Rahima Rehman, an assistant professor at the Islamabad Model College for Girls (Postgraduate), F-7/2, will head the FGCTA as the president, according to the election results announced by Chief Election Commissioner Dr Fidaul Mustafa. Professor Farhan Azam of the Islamabad Model College for Boys Sihala and Tasneem Akhter Mir, an associate professor at the IMCG (PG), G-10/4, will serve as the association's senior vice-president and vice-president, respectively. Other members of the newly-elected body are Tahir Bhatti, a lecturer at IMCB, H-9, as the general secretary, Prof Danish Yaseen of the Islamabad Model Postgraduate College, H-8 as the joint secretary, Zubairuddin Memon, an assistant

professor at IMCB, F-10/4, as the finance secretary and Anum Kaleem, a lecturer at IMCG (PG), F-7/2, as press secretary.

After announcing election results, Dr Fida said he was confident that the association's newly-elected leadership would ensure effective resolution of the issues facing Islamabad's college teachers.
