PU awards PhD degrees to 10 scholars

LAHORE:Punjab University has awarded PhD degrees to 10 of its scholars. According to details, Murtaza Ashiq has been awarded PhD degree in the subject of Information Management, Abida Tehreem in the subject of Public Health, Amna Mahmood in the subject of Biochemistry, Zaman Gul in the subject of Zoology, Mubashar Daud in the subject of Islamic Studies, Tayyba Rasool in the subject of Information Management, M Aamer Aslam in the subject of Public Health, Muhammad Akram in the subject of Biochemistry, Manzoor Ali in the subject of Islamic Studies and Uzma Naureen in the subject of Botany.

LCWU holds seminar on ‘blasphemy law’

Lahore College for Women University (LCWU) organised a seminar on 'Blasphemy Law and Our Social Responsibilities' under Punjab Higher Education Commission (PHEC) awareness campaign against religious hatred here on Monday.

Addressing the seminar, PHEC Director Dr Tanveer Qasim said that social media should be made the best tool for public awareness about blasphemy law and our social responsibilities. Negative use of social media is causing distance from religion as well as moral deterioration, he said and added freedom could be recognised to the extent that the sentiments of others were not hurt. He further said that blasphemy content on social media should be reported immediately to the PTA, FIA or Ministry of Religious Affairs.

UET entrance test starts

The UET’s Entrance Test (ECAT) 2024 for admission to public and private engineering universities across Punjab, including University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Lahore and its sub-campuses started on Monday. A UET spokesperson said that the ECAT would continue till Friday June 07 at 12 test centres in 11 cities across Punjab while the result would be announced on June 10, 2024.
