LAHORE:Ahead of Eidul Azha, the Lahore Waste Management Company (LWMC) was undertaking significant preparations to ensure timely and efficient cleaning services for the citizens.
LWMC Chairman Malik Bilal Zulfikar Khokhar chaired a meeting to address the sanitation challenges on Monday. During the meeting, the board reviewed the comprehensive arrangements for Eidul Azha. The LWMC Board of Directors has mandated the procurement of 1.4 million waste bags to be distributed free of charge for the disposal of animal waste.
LWMC Chief Executive Officer Babar Sahib Din briefed the board members about Eid’s preparations and highlighted the establishment of service delivery and awareness camps in all cattle markets organised by the district government.
These camps will provide free waste bags to buyers, ensuring proper disposal of animal waste. Additionally, service delivery camps will be set up in 274 union councils across Lahore. According to LWMC spokesperson Umar Chaudhary, the 140th meeting of the Board of Directors took place at the LWMC head office. The meeting was attended by CEO Babar Sahib Din, the Deputy CEO, board members, and other officers to review and finalise the preparations for Eidul Azha 2024.
Chairman Malik Bilal Zulfikar Khokhar assured that LWMC was following the vision of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz and will provide the best sanitation facilities to the people of Lahore for Eidul Azha 2024. The LWMC management was committed to ensuring ideal cleanliness arrangements during the festive period.
