BANNU: Unidentified people shot dead a social worker, Ishaq Khan Wazir, along with his companion here on Sunday, police officials said.
The incident happened in the limits of the Mamandkhel Police Station.
The bodies were shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital.
An uncle of the slain person, Adnan, son of Malik Mirsmad Khan Wazir, reported the incident to police.
The complainant said Ishaq Khan Wazir was killed along with his companion Nazir Khan of Hassankhel Khairaki.
He said Ishaq Khan was working in the polio programme as a contractor. Adnan said the family had no enmity. The police registered a case and started an investigation.
