PESHAWAR: Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur has announced to recruit sons of martyred members of the former Khassadar force into the police force.

A handout said he was having a meeting with a tribal jirga from Khyber district at the Chief Minister’s House.

Member National Assembly Iqbal Afridi and former federal minister Noorul Haq Qadri led the jirga.Gandapur said the issues faced by the former Khassadar force of the merged districts would be addressed.

He said the government would honour the promises made to the people of the merged districts.

Acknowledging the sacrifices made by the tribal people for the nation, he said that the government would fulfill the promises. He said funds had been allocated in the provincial budget for the development of the merged districts.

The chief minister vowed to execute uplift projects in the underdeveloped tribal districts. The merged districts, having been the most affected by the war against terrorism, will now witness comprehensive development to address their deprivations, he said, adding that plans were being made to provide health and education facilities to the people. The upcoming budget will facilitate youth entrepreneurship through interest-free loans, with a specific quota for the youth of the merged districts, he added.

The chief minister assured the jirga that unprecedented development projects will be initiated under the current provincial government. He emphasized the importance of community involvement in monitoring the quality of development work and urged immediate action against any substandard projects. Gandapur called upon the local people to help eradicate drugs and corruption.

The chief minister discussed the introduction of a new mining policy that guaranteed full rights to the areas where mining activities occurred. He outlined a comprehensive strategy aimed at improving law and order in the merged districts, recognizing that peace was integral to the province’s development and prosperity.
