Four arrested for installing hidden cameras in girls’ hostel washroom

LAHORE: Johar Town police have registered a case against seven individuals, including the owner of a private girls' hostel and his wife, for installing hidden cameras in the washroom of the hostel. Police arrested four accused in the case.

The case was registered against Mian Saleem, his wife Fozia Saleem, and five others. However, after the registration of the case, the private girls' hostel was vacated. More than 40 female students from different cities were living in the hostel. Investigation teams have recorded the statements of the students, who confirmed that a hidden camera was installed in the washroom.

Two cops shot at, injured by three bikers

Two cops were shot at and wounded by three bike riders in the limits of Nawab Town on Sunday. According to the details, the cops signalled three suspicious motorcyclists to stop for checking. The suspects opened fire at the cops, as a result two constables Imtiaz and Ali Hamza were injured. The accused escaped by taking advantage of the darkness. The injured cops were admitted to hospital.

2,623 suspects arrested in search, combing operations

Punjab police teams conducted 5,400 search and combing operations across the province from February 26, 2024. During these operations, 165,000 people were interrogated and 2,623 suspects were arrested. A spokesman for the Punjab police said that 49 search and combing operations were carried out in all the districts of the province, including Lahore, on Saturday. In these operations, 1,400 people were questioned and 63 suspects were detained.
