Journalist bodies meet health ministers

LAHORE : PFUJ president Afzal Butt, National Press Club (NPC) secretary Nayar Ali, secretary Finance Waqar Abbasi and Lahore Press Club president Arshad Ansari called on Health Ministers Khawaja Salman Rafique and Khawaja Imran Nazir at Primary and Secondary Healthcare Department here on Saturday.

They discussed issues of mutual interest. Khawaja Salman said that the delegation of journalists is welcome to the Health Department. “The media plays the role of a guide between the government and the people. Under the leadership of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, efforts are being made to facilitate the patients,” the minister said. Khawaja Imran Nazir in his expression said that the media is playing an important role in highlighting the government policies to the public. We all have to play a role in improving the health system, he said.

The delegation of the National Press Club informed them about the problems faced regarding the health of journalists and treatment facilities in hospitals and also submitted suggestions in writing in this regard. The delegation invited provincial health ministers to the National Press Club and also requested to listen to the problems of journalists. On which Khawaja Salman assured the immediate resolution of the problems and accepted the invitation to visit National Press Club Islamabad and Camp Office Rawalpindi.
