HYDERABAD: Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan leaders condoled with relatives of those who died in the cylinder blast in the Pretabad area of Hyderabad.

Haider Abbas Rizvi and Leader of the Opposition in the Sindh Assembly and MQM-P leader Ali Khurshidi, while talking to the media, said the state of fire tenders in Hyderabad was the worst. In the chief minister’s protocol, they said, these fire brigade engines are active, but they do not arrive timely to save people in fire incidents.

Khurshidi alleged that at the Preetabad Hospital there are no staff and doctors there after 2pm on a daily basis. He added that Hyderabad and Karachi are remembered in tax collection, but the “bigoted” government ministers do not care about the people of these cities.

The Muttahida lawmaker said that if “burns ward” is written outside the room, it will not become a burns ward. Even after having a millions of rupees’ budget in the Civil Hospital, the lack of facilities is a question mark on their performance, he said.

The opposition leader further said that for two days, he had been trying to contact the CM but and he was not ready to listen him about the matter. Secondly, he said, he mayor of Hyderabad city sees only Qasimabad. “If you have somehow become the mayor of Hyderabad city, then understand the whole city and work for their welfare.” Otherwise, he said, people would force the mayor to resign.

He demanded that the mayor should resign. He demanded from the Sindh government to give Rs10 million to the families of each of those who died and Rs5 million to the injured.

Haider Abbas Rizvi said Ogra is responsible for the incident, as 60 per cent of Pakistanis get gas from cylinders, and Ogra has forgotten them by giving the task of inspections to a third party. He said incidents of gas cylinders are increasing, and he will raise his voice in the National Assembly. Wherever gas cylinders are made, their quality should also be checked, he said.
