The barbaric murder of a 16-year-old girl in Abbottabad is a stark reminder that we are still living in the dark ages. The responsibility of stopping such heinous crimes squarely lies on the shoulder of the ruling elite. The government’s impervious attitude on such occurrences is not only criminal but also manifests how they view the downtrodden.
There are millions of girls in our region who live their lives in physical and mental servitude. If murders in the name of pseudo-honour continue with this pace then one day we will end up as the most dishonourable nation in the world.
