LAHORE:Two suspected robbers were arrested after being injured in a police encounter in the Barki area. Reportedly, a police team signaled to stop four suspected bike riders driving on two bikes near Padri Road. The suspects instead of complying with the signal resorted to firing.
In exchange of firing, two suspected motorcyclists received bullet injuries and fell down. Police arrested the suspects. They were identified as Sultan and Kamran. Police also recovered illegal weapons and motorbikes from their custody. The other two suspects fled from the scene.
One dead in road accidents
A man lost his life whereas 1,323 were injured in 1,211 road traffic accidents in all districts of Punjab during the last 24 hours. Out of these, 591 people with serious injuries were shifted to different hospitals, while 732 victims with minor injuries were treated at the incident site by Rescue medical teams.
Two goat thieves arrested
Organised Crime Unit Model Town has arrested two members of the goat snatching gang involved in snatching the animal from a youth few days back in Samanabad. The arrested suspects have been identified as Zameer Ali and Amir.
The suspects few days back riding a car had snatched a goat on gunpoint from a youth. The CCTV footage of the incident had gone viral on social media. The chief minister had taken notice of the incident. SP Aftab Phularwan said that they have arrested the suspects. He said that the suspects confessed to committing over 10 bids so far during the initial investigations.
Two dacoits held
Two members of the Asia Bibi Dacoit Gang were arrested on Friday. Police arrested accused Asia Bibi and Ubaid and recovered three mobile phones, cash, two motorbikes and illegal weapons from them. The suspects were involved in many cases of dacoity, robbery, snatching and theft.
