Sindh Senior Minister for Transport Sharjeel Inam Memon has instructed officers of the Excise Narcotics Control Wing to expedite anti-narcotics operations and ensure the eradication of drugs throughout the province.
Officials said Memon chaired a meeting that was held at the office of the director general (DG) of excise and taxation in Karachi. Excise Narcotics Control DG Usman Ghani Siddiqui and other officers of the Narcotics Control Wing participated in the meeting.
The minister instructed the narcotics control officers to ensure the eradication of drugs throughout the province. He said the government was implementing reforms in the excise department and important steps had already been taken in this regard.
The Sindh government would utilise all resources and facilities for action against drug dealers, he maintained. Memon stated that the police, Rangers and other departments would assist the Excise Narcotics Control Wing in the operation against drugs. He asserted that the Sindh government would show zero tolerance on drugs, and no negligence would be tolerated in that matter. He remarked that the drug dealers were enemies of the nation.
