LAHORE: Islamabad and Punjab Rangers have secured their spots in the semifinals of the All Pakistan Muhammad Majid and Abdul Nasir Memorial Basketball Tournament. The tournament is being held at the Siddique Memon Sports Complex in Karachi under the auspices of the Pakistan Basketball Federation (PBBF).
On the fourth day of the pool round matches, Islamabad continued their winning streak by defeating Sindh Yellow 52-14, thus qualifying for the semifinal round. Ali Kazmi was the standout player for Islamabad, scoring 19 points, while Momin Javed contributed 15 points. For Sindh Yellow, Daniyal Khan managed to score 8 points. Top team WAPDA also maintained their stellar performance, advancing to the top-four stage along with PAF, Rangers, and Islamabad. In their last pool round match, WAPDA overpowered Punjab Rangers 82-71. Kaleemullah and Muhammad Israr were instrumental in the victory, scoring 22 and 17 points, respectively.
