ISLAMABAD: The long-awaited memoir of civil servant Salman Faruqui has appeared in major book shops.
The book is titled ‘Dear Mr Jinnah - 70 years in the life of a Pakistani civil servant’.
It has 432 pages starting with the 1947 Partition story and ending with a letter to the Quaid-e-Azam summing up what happened to the governance in Pakistan after 1948 when he passed away.
This memoir will be launched in Islamabad on June 10 at the Institute of Strategic Studies. Those who will speak at the launch ceremony include Mushahid Hussain, Jalil Abbas Jilani, Nasim Zahra, Farhatullah Babar, Shakil Durrani, Ijaz Rahim and Ambassador Sohail Mahmood.
The launch in Lahore will be held at the Alhamra Arts Council Hall on June 11. The ceremony will be chaired by Syed Babar Ali and the speakers will include Mujibur Rahman Shami, Razi Ahmed, Kamran Lashari and Ijaz Nabi.
The launch ceremony in Karachi will be held on June 14. The speakers will include Hameed Haroon, Shahnaz Wazir Ali, Faisal Siddiqui, Bashir Ali Muhammad and Shakira Durrani.
