Islamabad:The Coordinator to the Prime Minister, Rana Ihsaan Afzal Khan, has stated that reducing inflation is the top priority in the upcoming budget. A five-day workshop was held in Islamabad under the auspices of the Women Media Centre for the training of female students, with Rana Ihsaan Afzal Khan as the special guest, says a press release.
During his speech, Rana Ihsaan Afzal Khan mentioned that Pakistan seeks investment, not aid. Discussing inflation, the Prime Minister’s coordinator said that the prices of flour, ghee, and petrol have decreased in the country. There are clear indications that the interest rate will be reduced in the upcoming budget.
In response to a question about women, Rana Ihsaan Afzal Khan said that Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif wants to provide equal opportunities for women’s development. For economic progress, women must be given equal opportunities.
On this occasion, Women Media Centre’s CEO Fauzia Shaheen and Senior Programme Assistant Iraj Atiq were also present. The training programme on ‘Freedom of expression: Role of Social Media Platforms in Disinformation’ saw participation from media students of various universities. This workshop will continue until June 3.
