LAHORE:Renowned international expert on palliative medicine Prof Dr Iain Lawrie delivered an awareness lecture on palliative medicine here at Fatima Jinnah Medical University on Thursday.
Fatima Jinnah Medical University Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Khalid Masood Gondal, welcomed the guest speaker Prof Dr Iain Lawrie, along with the faculty. Pro-Vice Chancellor Prof Kamran Khalid Khawaja, Registrar Prof Dr Muhammad Nadeem, Deans Prof Abdul Hameed, Faculty Members, and Students attended the lecture.
Prof Dr Iain Lawrie, along with Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Khalid Masood Gondal, inaugurated the Projection Microscope Facility in the Anatomy Department of Fatima Jinnah Medical University, Lahore.
In his welcome address, FJMU Vice-Chancellor Dr Khalid Masood Gondal thanked Prof Dr Iain Lawrie for visiting FJMU. Prof Dr Iain Lawrie is the Consultant in Palliative Medicine at North Manchester General Hospital, UK. He said that for the first time in Pakistan, the Post-Graduate Palliative Medicine Examination is going to be held, in which Dr Iain Lawrie will participate as an External Examiner.
Prof Dr Iain Lawrie delivered an awareness lecture on the importance of Palliative Medicine. He said that the specialty of Palliative Medicine is new in Pakistan. He said that patients who suffer from any life-threatening disease and other physical, psychological, and spiritual problems could be improved through their timely diagnosis and treatment.
