Numberdari system effective to resolve lands issues

LAHORE:A delegation of Pak Numbardar Association Rawalpindi led by Malik Khalid Numdar Thursday called on Punjab Governor Sardar Saleem Haider Khan at Governor's House.

Talking to the delegation, Sardar Saleem said the usefulness of Numberdari system cannot be denied. He said strengthening the Numberdari system could reduce the burden of work on various departments. The governor said that the government has also started to realise its significance. He said it is an effective system that can solve issues relating to agriculture, land and revenue departments at grass-root level.

He said an empowered Numberdari system would facilitate the government officials. The delegation informed the governor about the various problems faced by them and urged him to revive the Numbardari system.

The governor assured the delegation that he would talk to the Punjab Chief Minister to solve their problems. The delegation also congratulated the governor on assuming the office of the governor.

Meanwhile, the governor met Vice Chairperson Punjab Social Protection Authority (PSPA) Jahan Ara Wattoo at Governor's House, here. The PSPA Vice Chairperson briefed the governor on the ongoing welfare programmes of PSPA. The governor said the welfare of the people and provision of basic facilities to them is the priority of the govt.
