The Sindh Local Government Department’s Competitive & Livable City of Karachi (CLICK) project has started handing over the newly created websites to the respective towns officials.
CLICK officials are also imparting technical training to town municipal corporation (TMC) officials. According to a press statement issued by CLICK’s office, the World Bank-funded project is playing an active role in the autonomy and strengthening of the local bodies.
They are organising training sessions for the technical staff of all the towns to equip and digitise the TMCs along modern lines. CLICK’s IT experts and the technical firm Trade Soul conducted in-depth training sessions on operating and updating the newly created town websites.
CLICK’s IT expert Daniyal Ahmad Khan said the staff of the Karachi Municipal Corporation and all the towns are being provided complete links and keys to their respective websites.
He said that training was provided by CLICK and Trade Soul. Technical support will continue for all the towns on a regular basis, he added. The representatives of the TMCs applauded CLICK’s initiative for empowering the local bodies.
