LAHORE:Commissioner Lahore division Zaid bin Maqsood Wednesday chaired a meeting to review arrangements at Shahpur Kanjran cattle market for Eid-ul-Azha.
Cattle Market Management Company CEO Punjab Taseer Ahmed gave a briefing to the commissioner and said the market will be operational 24 hours from today (Thursday) till Eid. The meeting was told that cattle traders from Punjab and across the country bring their animals to Shahpur Kanjran cattle market and there will be 24-hour surveillance in the cattle market with 12 CCTV cameras. The participants were told that a parking lot for 2,000 vehicles has also been arranged with improved lighting arrangements.
The commissioner directed to establish a livestock and medical camp for the sacrificial animals and visitors. He said the complaints redressal system of citizens must be improved. The commissioner said the market administration must ensure cleanliness, security, sanitation and other facilities.
He gave special instructions to keep drainage and passages clear in case of rain. The commissioner maintained that along with the complaints of citizens, the complaints of the traders must also be redressed in a timely manner.
