ISLAMABAD: The attorney general of Pakistan undertook on behalf of the stage and law enforcement agencies that every person who is allegedly disappeared or is missing will be reunited with his family.

He submitted that the ministerial committee on enforced disappearances has prepared recommendations and a summary will be placed before the next cabinet committee meeting to resolve the issue. The issue requires a political solution and has been raised at a high level, he said.

Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani of the Islamabad High Court has issued a written order in the missing Baloch students case. Iman Mazari, the counsel for missing Baloch students, has provided a list of three missing students to the AGP.

The court observed that it is expected that the attorney general will apprise the court of the whereabouts of the three missing students on the next date of the hearing. The attorney general submitted that the court had formed a committee consisting of the ISI DG, MI DG and IB DG regarding the missing persons, but they were facing some administrative difficulties.

The court allowed FIA and CTD officials to be included in the committee, while giving permission for making second high-level officers of the ISI, MI and IB committee members. The case will be heard further on June 14.
