LAHORE:A woman was subjected to severe torture for giving birth to second daughter in the Ghaziabad area. The victim Muqaddas alleged that her husband Hafiz Muzzamil and in-laws were frustrated because she gave birth to a girl.
Her husband accompanied by his brother Tajjamul and father Aslam subjected her to severe torture. Police arrested the suspects and registered a case against them on the victim’s complaint. Lahore Investigations SSP Anoosh Masood Chaudhry said that they were investigating the matter.
SSP Anoosh Masood Chaudhry said that gender-based violence was not acceptable at any cost. In another incident reported in Raiwind, a suspect stabbed his wife to death. The suspect Rehmat Ali reportedly was so annoyed after an exchange of harsh words that
he attacked her in the head. The victim received serious injuries and died. Police arrested the suspect.
Woman abandons four children in park
A woman reportedly abandoned four children in the Greater Iqbal Park. The victim children were aged six months to six years and included three girls. A person spotted the victims and alerted police.
A Lorry Adda police team reached the spot and took them into custody. They contacted Child Protection and Welfare Bureau (CP&WB) and handed the victims to them. They were identified as Zain 6, Zainab 3, Zaiba 3 and Amina. Police and CP&WB police were searching to trace the victims’ family.
Two murdered over property
Two persons were killed and a woman was injured in a clash over a property dispute in the Shahdara area. Reportedly, two rival groups had an exchange of hash words over an impending land dispute near Saggian Bridge. It escalated to a violent clash resulting in exchange of firing. as a result, three persons received bullet injuries. Two victims identified as Ali Raza and Dilawar died. The injured woman Nagina was shifted to hospital.
On information of the incident police reached the spot and controlled the situation Lahore DIG Operations Faisal Kamran took notice of the incident and sought report from SP City. Superintendent Police City said that raids were being conducted to arrest the accused persons.
