Two children of army officer die in fire
DERA ISMAIL KHAN: Two children of an army officer died of burn injuries while he, his wife, two sons and a servant sustained severe wounds when a fire erupted and engulfed the entire house in Mohallah Phallajat here on Monday.According to details, the fire erupted when the family members of Lieutenant Colonel Dr Muhammad Saqib were asleep in the upper portion of the house in Mohallah Phallajat in the jurisdiction of the City Police Station.
The fire engulfed the entire house within no time, leaving two children of the army officer -a daughter, 8, and a son, 10, dead.Lt-Colonel Dr Muhammad Saqib, his wife, two sons and a servant sustained severe burn injuries in the blaze.
Volunteers and the personnel of the Rescue 1122 team rushed to the spot and started extinguishing the fire.The Rescue 1122 team also shifted the injured to the Combine Military Hospital in Dera Ismail Khan.It was learnt that the army officer had arrived a day earlier on vacation in the city.
