LAHORE: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is giving a serious thought to showing some leniency to Ahmed Shehzad and Umar Akaml and the two might get a call for the fitness camp at Kakul, Abbottabad.

Shahzad and Akmal are believed to have written an apology to the PCB which seems to have worked.

The reports coming from the PCB suggested that PCB would most likely call the two.

According to well-placed sources, PCB chairman Shaharyar Khan has accepted Shehzad’s apology and is willing t o give him “one last chance”. But he has made it conditional with Chief Selector Inzamam ul Haq’s approval.

The sources said that one of the selectors has, however, opposed taking these cricketers in the camp before they prove their fitness and good behaviour in the domestic cricket.

Shehzad had written to the PCB chief and assured him of a positive change in his behaviour.

The Chief Selector, while naming 35 players for the camp before England tour, ignored Shehad and Akmal because of their disciplinary issues.
