LAHORE
A representative delegation of All Pakistan Clerks Association (APCA), Punjab, led by its President Haji Muhammad Irshad Chaudhry called on Additional Chief Secretary Shamail Ahmed Khwaja and presented its charter of demands.
The additional chief secretary said that genuine rights of low-paid employees should be given to them without protest and strikes. He said the government believed in respect to all.
He announced constituting a three-member special committee headed by Provincial Finance Secretary Shaukat Ali for detailed review of demands of APCA and a notification has been issued in this regard. Punjab Secretary Regulations Dr Saleh Tahir and Services Secretary Farhan Aziz Khawaja have been nominated as members of the committee.
The additional chief secretary informed the delegation that prior to formal demands by APCA, he had issued directions to Provincial Benevolent Fund Board to send a detailed plan to enhance the grants of government employees for government approval. The delegation included Lahore APCA Division President Lala Muhammad Aslam, General Secretary Abu Huraira, Senior Vice-President Muhammad Waseem Khan, Zulfiqar Ali Bhatti, APCA Public Relations Unit President Muhammad Tasawar Chaudhry and General Secretary Chaudhry Mushtaq Ali.
