ISLAMABAD: The appointment of Public Accounts Committee (PAC) chairmanship has one again became controversial after the Sunni Ittehad Council and National Assembly Secretariat could not reach a consensus.
According to sources, the PPP might get the PAC chairmanship. Another view is that there should be voting for the PAC headship. If voting is done to elect the PAC chairman the government might get the PAC slot, being in majority in the National Assembly. It is expected that there would be 16 government members and 8 opposition members in the PAC. Earlier, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf had nominated Sher Afzal Marwat for the PAC chairman slot, but later it named Sheikh Waqas Akram for the slot after voting within the party.
