Forgotten hero
This refers to the letter ‘True heroes’ (May 17, 2024) by Malik Tariq Ali which states that “state-funded hospitals, airports, welfare schemes must only be named after Muhammad Ali Jinnah, Allama Iqbal or Fatima Jinnah and nobody else”. However, there are numerous other people who not only actively took part in the Pakistan movement but sacrificed everything they had to achieve the goal of an independent state.
One such towering personality is Liaquat Ali Khan, who made tremendous sacrifices for Pakistan, along with his wife Begum Rana Liaquat Ali. The writer has forgotten that Both LAK and his wife were also victims of state-funded character assassination. The name of LAK will shine in history books written by unbiased historians.
