Together with mental and physical health making enable a person to perform well in any field, sports also have the unique power to connect people of different communities with each other, create an equal playing field and build important bridges towards peace, said Haji Muhammad Gulzar Awan, chairman of Global Peace Foundation, while addressing to the winners of annual Inter Schools Sports Competitions of Anjuman Faizul Islam (AFI), here on Tuesday.
The annual inter-school sports competitions were held in AFI Mandra Campus and a large number of athletes from different educational institutions of AFI participated in 100 and 200 meter race, long and high jumps, tug of war, ‘Chati’ race, hurdle race and other games.
Haji Muhammad Gulzar Awan said sports activities give confidence and encourage personal growth to the sportsmen and ultimately promote peace among sports loving persons and nations. He appreciated the talent of AFI’s students and advised them to fully concentrate on their physical, mental and educational health and wealth.
