Matric student found shot dead in Liaquatabad call centre
A matriculation student was killed in a mysterious incident of firing inside a Call Centre in Liaquatabad on Friday.
Police said 16-year-old Mohammad Abdullah, son of Mehmood Ali, died in the mysterious shooting at the call centre located on the ground floor in Liaquatabad No. 2 of the Supermarket police remit.
His body was taken to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital in an ambulance. SHO Saleem Khan said Abdullah’s friend told the police that after taking the matriculation examination with him earlier in the day, Abdullah came to the call centre where he worked part-time.
He said the body of the deceased was first seen by another employee of the call centre lying on a sofa while a pistol present on a table. SHO Khan said the bullet entered Abdullah’s right cheek and hit his left jaw, and it was too early to say who the killer was.
The CCTV footage of the scene is being obtained, after which facts will come out. The deceased was the third of the five siblings and was a resident of Liaquatabad’s Jhanda Chowk.
The victim’s maternal uncle Naimat told the media that the call centre belonged to Abdullah’s cousin Haris, who was to be Abdullah’s future brother-in-law. After sitting a matric paper, he came home and after offering Friday prayers he went to the call centre where at 5pm employees started coming.
He said the licensed Glock pistol belongs to Haris, who keeps it in the office for safety. The police questioned Haris and other employees and took them to the police station where their statements would be taken. The police seized the pistol and a bullet shell from the spot, which will be sent for a forensic examination.
