Hascol National Ranking Tennis Championship from May 15
KARACHI: Hascol Petroleum is the latest addition to a growing list of corporations that support tennis in the country. The group has agreed to organise a grade-A event with prize purse of Rs500,000 in Islamabad.
The 1st Hascol National Ranking Tennis Championship is scheduled to be held from May 15-21 at the PTF Complex in Islamabad. The country’s top players have confirmed their participation.
The singles events to be contested in this championship are men, ladies, juniors 18, boys 14 and under, boys and girls 10 and under. A doubles event for men’s category will also be played.
All outstation main draw junior players will get economy class railway fare, and all outstation main draw players will get Rs700 per day as daily allowance until elimination.
Pakistan Tennis Federation (PTF) president Salim Saifullah Khan welcomed Hascol Petroleum to the group of elite sponsors of PTF. “I am certain this relationship will go a long way to help the PTF nurture and grow the talent we observe in our young players. Like in the rest of the world, corporations have a huge role in the development of sports and we hope many more will join us in our endeavours,” he said.
