Rawalpindi:The Cybercrime Circle of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has taken action on the complaint of teachers from an education department. They have arrested two officers of the department after collecting indisputable evidence of their involvement in sexually harassing female teachers. This was done through blackmail via telephone and social media. The FIA spokesman confirmed that the accused officers, identified as Arif Iqbal and Khalid Faraz, have been arrested. Arif Iqbal was working with the Educational Department of Lakki Marwat.
The complaint lodged by a lady teacher stated that the suspects used to threaten the female teachers by claiming they would transfer them to hazardous remote areas under the pretext of having objectionable material against them. The accused officers also shared objectionable data of the victims on WhatsApp.
During the investigation, three mobile phones, objectionable photos, and videos were recovered from the educational department. Several teachers who were blackmailed by the educational officers have contacted the Cyber Crime Circle Rawalpindi to record their statements against the suspects. The investigating officials, quoting the statements recorded by the FIA team, said that the accused had been harassing female teachers for several months to fulfil their motives. The accused also demanded extortion under the pretext of objectionable photos and videos.
The suspects were arrested from Lakki Marwat using the latest technology. A case has been registered against them under PECA and PPC, and a proper investigation has been initiated.
The scope of investigations has been expanded to include other officials from the Education Department regarding sexual harassment and blackmailing of other female teachers. The FIA has maintained that the suspects involved in illegal activities under the guise of exceeding their authority will be brought to justice. The suspects will be given the harshest punishment according to the law for undermining the esteem and integrity of the educational institutions, as remarked by the chieftain of the FIA.
