JAMRUD: The Anjuman-e-Tajiran here on Tuesday staged a protest against the imposition of taxes in Jamrud Bazaar.The protesters carrying banners and placards chanted slogans against the imposition of taxes.
Anjuman-e-Tajiran Jamrud President Kashif Afridi demanded the government to withdraw the decision to impose taxes on the people of the tribal districts.He said that the people of the tribal districts did not have the financial resources to pay huge taxes as they had already faced a host of problems.
He said the government should give relief to the traders of the tribal districts. He said the traders in the merged districts had suffered losses in the war against terrorism, therefore, they should be provided incentives and relief. Kashif said that the traders would be compelled to stage a protest outside the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly building in Peshawar if their demands were not met.
