LAHORE:In a disturbing turn of events, SHO of Old Anarkali, Javed Hussain, has come under fire for his alleged involvement in manhandling of five individuals.

The incident, which occurred during a raid at China Centre, has sparked outrage and calls for accountability within the law enforcement community. The ordeal began when the Old Anarkali police, acting on information regarding a proclaimed offender, raided China Centre. However, what transpired during the operation has left the community shaken and appalled. Five individuals, identified as Ehsan, Nazim, Manzoor, Ali Raza, and Zahid, were apprehended by the police and taken to the Old Anarkali police station.

Eyewitnesses recount a harrowing tale of abuse and violence at the hands of SHO Javed Hussain. Instead of adhering to standard procedures, the SHO took matters into his own hands, subjecting the detainees to physical assault. Despite their pleas for mercy, the victims were thrashed mercilessly by the SHO.

The inhumane treatment meted out by the police has sent shockwaves across the city, prompting widespread condemnation from various quarters of society. Civil rights activists and citizens concerned have voiced their outrage over the disregard for human dignity and the rule of law exhibited by the police. The incident gained further traction when videos capturing the violence surfaced on social media platforms, eliciting a strong public backlash. The graphic footage, depicting the victims being beaten and humiliated, has fueled calls for justice and accountability.

In response to the public outcry, the DIG Operations directed the Superintendent of Police (SP) Civil Lines to launch a thorough inquiry into the incident. The SP was tasked with conducting a swift and impartial investigation and submitting a detailed report within 24 hours.
