IPP decides to continue to support govt
LAHORE: Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party (IPP) has said it will continue to support the government. A meeting of the party leaders was held here on Sunday. IPP president Abdul Aleem Khan chaired the meeting in which current political, economic and general situation of the country was discussed. The meeting decided that the IPP would continue to support the government.
According to a press release issued here, it was expressed that the country moving towards improvement so chaos and anarchy should be discouraged at all cost. Congratulating the clear victory of IPP in the recent by-elections in the meeting, the performance of the party was declared satisfactory and a plan of action was consulted for further improvement in the future. Abdul Aleem Khan directed that in the first phase the organisational structure of the party should be completed at the district level across Punjab and preparations for the local body elections should be started at the grass root level. He said that the elected members of the party should highlight the problems of the common man in the national and provincial assemblies. Expressing concern over the current situation in Kashmir, urgent measures were emphasised in the meeting and an integrated strategy was proposed to extend remedy to the farmers in Punjab.
Central leaders of the Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party expressed their full confidence in the leadership of Federal Minister Abdul Aleem Khan and assured him of their full support. IPP leaders Ishaq Khan, Ghulam Sarwar, Humayun Akhtar, Rana Nazir, Sardar Ayaz, MNA Awon Chaudhry, Gul Asghar, Dr Manza Hassan, MPAs Shoaib Siddiqui and Sara Ahmad were present in the meeting. IPP Mian Khalid Mehmood, Dr Firdous Ashiq, Taskin Khakwani, Dr Arooj Gilani, Nouman Langriyal, Farrukh Mumtaz, Noraiz Shakoor, Ameer Haider Singha, Yawar Kamal, Ch Zaheer Uddin, Abdul Rauf, Haroon Imran, Syed Gul Agha, Naushir Mann and Malik Zaman participated.
