Official rates not implemented in province

LAHORE: The Punjab government continuously claiming reduction in the prices of the essential items as the information minister on consecutive second week held a presser on the issue to establish the governance.

However, factually the government has failed to implement the official rates across the province while reduction in the rates is effectively shown in the rate lists and media only. On ground, there is no reduction in the prices of essential items expect some items due to the seasonal variations as the crop harvesting started and influx to the markets increased.

But the failure of the government is exposed with non-implementation on the rates issued by the government departments. Reduction in poultry price continued in the rate lists only. But, likewise other perishable, the poultry rate lists were not implemented as well. Chicken meat sellers refused to sell at the official rates.

This week price of chicken was further reduced by Rs74 per kg, fixed at Rs302-314 per kg, sold at Rs350-360 per kg, and chicken meat by Rs108 per kg, fixed Rs455 per kg, and soldRs600-1000 per kg.

The price of potato soft skin unchanged at Rs70-75 per kg, sold at Rs120 per kg, B-grade fixed at Rs60-65 per kg, and C-grade at Rs50-55 per kilogram, mixed sold at Rs80-100 per kg.

The price of onion A-grade further reduced by Rs32 per kg, fixed at Rs85–90 per kg, sold at Rs120-130 per kg, B-grade at Rs75-80 per kg, sold at Rs100 per kg, and C-grade fixed at Rs65-70 per kg, sold at sold at Rs80 per kg.

The price of tomato A-grade reduced by Rs15 per kg, fixed at Rs70-75 per kg, sold at Rs120-150 per kg, B-grade fixed at Rs60-65 per kg, and C-grade at Rs50-55 per kg, mixed sold at Rs100-120 per kg.

The price of garlic local was reduced by Rs5 per kg, fixed at Rs250-260 per kg, sold at Rs350-400 per kg, and Garlic China fixed at Rs620-640 per kg, sold at Rs800-1000 per kg, Garlic Harnai reduced by Rs20 per kg, fixed at Rs465-485 per kg, sold at Rs600-650 per kg.

The price of Ginger Thai reduced by Rs35 per kg, fixed at Rs550-570 per kg, and Ginger Chinese gained by Rs30 per kg, fixed at Rs535-555 per kg, both sold at Rs800 per kg.

Cucumber Farm fixed at Rs40-43 per kg, sold at Rs80 per kg, and cucumber local further gained by Rs15 per kg, fixed at Rs62-65 per kg, sold at Rs140-150 per kg.

Brinjal price was reduced by Rs30 per kg, fixed Rs70-74 per kg, sold at Rs120-150 per kg. Biter gourd declined by Rs30 per kg, fixed at Rs70-75 per kg, sold at Rs100-140 per kg. The price Spinach farm unchanged at Rs36-38 at Rs80-100 per kg. Zucchini local was further reduced by Rs80 per kg, fixed at Rs100-105 per kg, sold at Rs150-160 per kg, Zucchini farm by Rs25 per kg, fixed at Rs52-55 per kg, sold at Rs100-120 per kg, and Zucchini long by Rs4 per kg, fixed at Rs57-60 per kg, sold at Rs100-120 per kg.

The price of lemon China further gained by Rs10 per kg, fixed at Rs230-240 per kg, sold at Rs400 per kg, lemon by Rs95 per kg, fixed at Rs565-585 per kg, sold at Rs800-1000 per kg.

Pumpkin was reduced by Rs40 per kg, fixed at Rs57-60 per kg, sold at Rs100-120 per kg.

Green chili price A-grade further increased by Rs15 per kg, fixed at Rs115-120 per kg, sold at Rs200 per kg, B-grade fixed at Rs72-75 per kg, sold at Rs150 per kg.

Capsicum price was reduced by Rs10 per kg, fixed at Rs42-45 per kg, sold at Rs100-140 per kg.

Price of cauliflower was reduced by Rs30 per kg, fixed at Rs115-120 per kg, sold at Rs15-180 per kg, cabbage by Rs5 per kg, at Rs33-35 per kg, sold Rs80-120 per kg.

Ladyfinger reduced by Rs80 per kg, fixed at Rs165-170 per kg, sold at Rs200-240 per kg.

Turnip was reduced by Rs10 per kg, fixed at Rs26-28 per kg, sold at Rs120-140 per kg.

Fenugreek (Methi) further gained by Rs20 per kg, fixed at Rs125-130 per kg, sold at Rs300 per kg.

Pea price was further gained by Rs5 per kg, fixed at Rs200-210 per kg, sold at Rs300 per kg.

Radish was fixed at Rs16-18 per kg, sold at Rs100 per kg.

Sweet Pumpkin was reduced by Rs6 per kg, fixed at Rs28-30 per kg, sold at Rs80 per kg.

The price of different variety of apples was fixed at Rs58-290 per kg, sold at Rs200-500 per kg.

The price of Banana A-category unchanged at Rs130-135 per dozen, sold at Rs250 per dozen, and B-category fixed at Rs85-90 per dozen, sold at Rs150-180 per dozen, and C-category fixed at Rs57-60 per dozen, sold at Rs130 per dozen.

Dates Irani gained by Rs10 per kg, fixed at Rs430-450 per kg, sold at Rs800 to 1400 per kg.

Papaya gained by Rs10 per kg, fixed at Rs155-160 per kg, sold at Rs200-240 per kg.

Pomegranate khandahri further gained by Rs60 per kg, fixed at Rs490-510 per kg, sold at Rs800 per kg.

Guava was further gained by Rs20 per kg, fixed at Rs90-160 per kg, sold at Rs300-350 per kg.

Malta (stored) was gained by Rs80 per dozen, fixed at Rs290-300 per dozen, sold at Rs800 per dozen.

Grapefruit was fixed at Rs18-20 per piece, sold at Rs40 -60 per piece.

Strawberry was further gained by Rs20 per kg, fixed at Rs70-120 per kg, sold at Rs120-160 per kg.

Melon was fixed at Rs55-75 per kg, sold at Rs100-120 per kg, melon round fixed at Rs37-40 per kg, sold at Rs60-80 per kg.

Lokat local fixed at Rs145-150 per kg, fixed at Rs250-300 per kg, lokat farm was fixed at Rs100-105 per kg, sold at Rs150-200 per kg.

Watermelon was further reduced by Rs5 per kg, fixed at Rs33-35 per kg, sold at Rs50-80 per kg.

Peach was fixed at Rs140-145 per kg, sold at Rs200 -300 per kg.

Phalsa was reduced by Rs60 per kg, fixed at Rs270-280 per kg, sold at Rs400 per kg.

Grama was fixed at Rs66-70 per kg, sold at Rs100-120 per kg.

Apricot yellow was fixed at Rs145-150 per kg, sold at Rs300 per kg.

Mangoes of different variety was fixed at Rs135-190 per kg, sold at Rs200-350 per kg.
