PESHAWAR: The Anti-Terrorism Court on Saturday extended the interim bail of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PMLN) Member Provincial Assembly Malik Tariq Awan in an attack on the hujra of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf lawmaker Asif Khan till May 16.

ATC Judge Syed Asghar Ali Shah after hearing the applications of Malik Tariq Awan and other accused extended the interim bail and stopped the police from arresting them.

The court directed the police to produce complete record of the case on next hearing.

The MPA was booked recently for allegedly attacking the hujra or male guest house of Member National Assembly from NA-32 in Peshawar from Sunni Ittehad Council/Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Asif Khan.

The incident happened on Charsadda Road near the Faqirabad Police Station where the hujra and residence of the PTI lawmaker are situated.

A case was registered against Malik Tariq accusing him of attacking the hujra of Asif Khan, beating up the security guard deputed there and firing into the air to create a scare.

Later, sections relating to terrorism were added to the case. Malik Tariq had moved the ATC and subsequently had secured the interim bail in the case.

The court had granted him bail till May 11 and stopped police from arresting him.
