522 SSU commandos’ passing-out parade held

The Sindh minister for home, law and parliamentary affairs, Ziaul Hassan Lanjar, participated as chief guest in the passing out ceremony of the third batch of 522 SSU commandos at the Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Elite Police Training Centre, Razzaqabad. IGP Ghulam Nabi Memon and others welcomed the home minister. A guard of honour was presented to him by the police.

Addressing the ceremony, he congratulated the successful officers and jawans of the third batch of the four-semester commando course and said that he hopes they will perform their duties with impartiality and dedication.

He also appreciated the tactical display presented by the passing out commandos and the target shooting and emergency response training demonstrations by the young men during the firing range visit.

He said that the standard of training and training of the Sindh Police is evident from the fact that its young men are always ready to face any emergency. He also commended the formation of a special team of motorcyclists for practical training and target practice to prevent street crime and other criminal activities.

Lanjar expressed pride over the overall performance of the Sindh Police against crime and said that not only will crime be eradicated, but also its patrons and facilitators will be brought to justice. Later, he also inaugurated the Mess Hall and Shooting House at the Razzaqabad Police Training Center.

IGP Ghulam Nabi Memon thanked the home minister for the visiting in the passing out ceremony despite his busy schedule and encouraging the young men.

He congratulated all the passing out commandos on completing their one-year training and expressed hope that they will perform their duties better and meet the expectations of the people. He said that the war against terrorism is very important, and RRF and SSU are such units that have responded effectively in time.

He said that we are grateful to the Sindh government for providing the necessary budget for these two units, and they are performing well. The SSU is a unit that is the face of Sindh Police in the field of modern policing, and their training and working style is different from all other units. He hoped that they will meet the expectations of the people.

IGP Memon said that police are being criticised for street crime and kidnappings in Karachi, and we are designing a training process keeping our channels in view. He said that the young men are not aware of what the Sindh government is doing for them.

The Sindh government has approved an additional budget of five billion rupees for the police in the upcoming budget, and the government has also done a great job for the health insurance of police personnel, under which every officer or jawan can get treatment up to ten lacs rupees per year from any good hospital.

He said the home minister has also shown seriousness regarding the repair of police lines, for which we are grateful.

At the end of the ceremony, during the media talk, the home minister said that a committee of senior officers has been formed regarding the Shaheed Jan Muhammad Mahar case, and the Sindh Police are also very concerned about this matter. The culprits murder will be arrested soon, he said, adding that wrong things are being spread on social media, and a video of dacoits is being made viral. Ask the families whose loved ones are kidnapped, he remarked and said the job of the media is to show the truth.

The Sindh government and police are taking action against the dacoits of Kutcha, and the federal minister of interior has been told that Punjab and Balochistan should cooperate with us. When an operation is launched against dacoits in Sindh, they flee to Punjab or Balochistan, he said.

He also appreciated the proposal of the IGP to form an inter-provincial Liaison Committee against dacoits. Moreover, he told the media that the Sindh Rangers are working with the Sindh Police in Sindh.
