ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek Insaf Secretary General Omar Ayub said on Friday that the fascist regimes without the public mandate in the centre and Punjab were standing on crutches, and their days were numbered.
He said that soon the government with the due mandate would be in power in the country.
Omar, who is also the Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly, addressed a news conference here, saying that the fascist government would not last long and eventually the truth would prevail, as the public had already announced their verdict on February 8, 2024, in support of the PTI and Imran Khan.
PTI leaders Shoaib Shaheen and Raoof Hasan were also present.
He said that PTI struggle would continue until Pakistan is turned into a truly independent country, where the Constitution and law reign supreme.
The PTI leader blasted the police for unleashing a reign of terror on peaceful PTI protesters, as they took out rallies across the country on May 9, but the Punjab police inflicted violence upon them and even lodged FIRs against him, PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar, Shoaib Shaheen, and Amir Mughal, despite the fact they did not break a flower pot.
Omar said the police violence had been at its peak in Pakistan, especially in Punjab, where the department was ruined by its IGP.
In his meeting with PTI founder Chairman Imran Khan on May 9, Omar said their leader gave a message of hope to the nation and vowed that their just struggle would continue to uphold the rule of law.
He denounced the police’s use of force against peaceful Jamaat-i-Islami protesters in Islamabad.
