Many food outlets sealed
LAHORE
Punjab Food Authority (PFA) during its drive against adulterated and substandard food sealed many outlets and issued warnings to many food manufacturers on Monday.
The PFA officials said a team of Data Town sealed Super Soda Water factory for not installing water filtration plant and unhygienic conditions.
Moreover, the workers at the plant did not have medical certificates, the officials said. The same team sealed Mukaram Foods for using banned colours in fruit juices, having no medical certificates for its workers and mentioning no expiry date on the products.
The PFA Shalimar Town team sealed Imran Pakoriyan in Sultanpura area for unhygienic conditions, having no medical certificates for the workers, dirty floor and absence of expiry date on the products.
A Samanabad Town team sealed Shahid Chanye and Burger Point for using harmful ketchup, dirty premises and not using soap for washing utensils.
The team also sealed Sugarcane Shop and Junaid Sharbat for using banned ingredients, absence of medical certificates for its workers and having no expiry date on the products.
Team of Ravi Town sealed Abdul Jabbar Soda Water in Texali Gate and issued strict and final warning to Lasani Naan Chanye for improving their cleanliness. Warning notices were issued to Bismillah Dahi Bhalle in Karmin Block, Haji Sweets at Railway Station, Crown Plaza Hotel on Canal Bank Road and Mr Chicks in Mughalpura for various violations.
profiteers: Price control magistrates of the City District Government Lahore (CDGL) continued action against profiteers and arrested 84 shopkeepers on Monday.
CDGL officials said a total 781 raids were conducted across the city and price control magistrates arrested 84 people out of which 26 were sent to jail after hearing them on the spot. Rs 12,500 fine was imposed on the profiteers.
