WANA: The issuance of e-domiciles has become a problem for individuals over the age of 18 in Wana, Lower South Waziristan district, prompting citizens to demand the cancellation of the B-Form requirement.

Initiated on March 21, 2024, by the Lower South Waziristan district administration on the directives of the provincial government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the process of obtaining e-domiciles was intended to facilitate people. However, it has inadvertently exacerbated their difficulties.

According to a citizen, Ajaz, the government has mandated the submission of the B-Form for online e-domicile applications. However, a domicile is a prerequisite for obtaining an identity card, creating a dilemma for many.

The predicament has left individuals above the age of 18 unable to acquire domiciles, B-Form, and subsequently, identity cards, thus leading to widespread frustration among citizens. The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government’s e-domicile application requires applicants at the Citizen Facilitation Centre to furnish a B-Form, a requirement that poses challenges for individuals over 18 years old. Notably, NADRA does not issue B-Form to individuals above this age threshold.

In response to the mounting concerns, Farid Wazir, the NADRA e-center in-charge, acknowledged the government’s announcement regarding online e-domicile facilities. However, he highlighted the logistical obstacles faced by Waziristan residents, particularly in obtaining B Forms for individuals above 18.

Area resident Hussain Wazir urged the provincial government to either waive the domicile requirement for ID card issuance or eliminate the B-Form condition for e-domiciles to alleviate this issue.

Tribal residents have stressed the need for intervention by chief minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and chief secretary to address the bureaucratic impasse, which has left thousands of youths in Wana, Waziristan, grappling with administrative hurdles.

Assistant Commissioner Wana, Faisal Ismail, affirmed the district administration’s efforts to address the mounting complaints regarding e-domicile issuance. He said the matter had been communicated to the KP Home Department to seek a resolution.
