PSCA expands free Wi-Fi service to 100 points in City

LAHORE : Punjab Safe Cities Authority (PSCA) has expanded its free Wi-Fi service from 50 to 100 points in provincial capital.

This service is available for the convenience of citizens in emergency situations. Citizens can contact the police and their loved ones through free Wi-Fi in any emergency. They can also use the Women’s Safety App, the Punjab Police App, and WhatsApp. The range of each free Wi-Fi device installed across the city is 300 feet. This service is only for emergency use. The citizens can also download various applications through free Wi-Fi and it can also be used for ride-hailing services.

2,865 complaints addressed

Lahore Police's Complaint Cell received a total of 3,936 complaints, with 2,865 addressed and 793 pending applications this year. This statement was issued by the Lahore Police spokesperson on Saturday. The spokesperson mentioned that out of 2,141 complaints received in person, 1,439 have been addressed with 497 actions initiated. Similarly, out of 1,779 complaints received via postal mail, 1,398 have been addressed with 281 actions ongoing. CCPO Lahore Bilal Siddique Kamyana, emphasised the importance of providing relief and timely justice to the oppressed.

Biker dies in accident

A 30-year-old man has died in a road accident in Defence Phase VIII. The victim was driving a bike and lost control due to over speeding. As a result, the victim received serious injuries and died. His body was shifted to a nearby morgue. Police said that the cause of death would be ascertained after autopsy.

Two robbers arrested

Chowki Firdous Market have arrested two members of robbers gang - Cheetah Gang. The suspects were involved in 50 cases of robbery, dacoity and motorbike lifting. They would conduct bids in different parts of the city. Police has recovered pistol, bullets, three bikes and cash. The arrested suspects were identified as Asif alias Cheetah and Faisal.
