Policing system being upgraded in Jhang

JHANG: By utilising the latest techniques and information technology, the policing system is being upgraded and it is helping early completion of investigations, said Faisalabad Regional Police Officer Bilal Siddique Kamyana.

Addressing a special meeting in the Jhang DPO Office here on Sunday, he said that the DSPs and SHOs should ensure provision of justice and proper respect to the people, visiting the police stations.

He ordered them to launch a crackdown on the proclaimed offenders. He said that the community policing should be extended at the constable level and conduct of the police officials with criminals and innocent people should be different.

He further directed that intelligence sharing with other law enforcement and sensitive agencies should also be extended to keep a vigilant eye on religious extremists and terrorists.

DPO Humayun Masood said that complaints of the people were addressed at their doorsteps by holding open courts in the police stations. He said that about 500 policemen had been punished on different charges, including poor performance, during the last two months. The DPO said that safety and security of Chinese engineers and workers had been ensured.

The DPO that investigation record, service record, crime data and other important record had been computerised, which was helping minimising crime rate in the district.

Meanwhile, officiating Faisalabad Commissioner Salman Ghani chaired a meeting of the district coordination committee at the Jhang DCO Office. Officiating DCO Abdul Qadir Shah, parliamentarians, EDOs, DOs and other officials were present.
