Passenger held for tampered visa at airport
The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) apprehended a passenger on Friday at Jinnah International Airport for allegedly travelling on a tampered visa.
The passenger, identified as Jahanzaib Ali, was detained by FIA Immigration officers upon his arrival from Iraq. An inspection of Ali’s passport revealed tampering with the visa pages, indicating a fraudulent attempt to alter the document. It was discovered that Ali had originally obtained a legitimate visa from Pakistan to Iran but illegally entered Iraq from Iran.
Further investigations revealed that Ali had procured the tampered visa from an agent in Iraq for Rs60,000 only to discover its falsity upon scrutiny. Subsequently, Ali attempted to conceal the deception by removing the stickers associated with the visa from his passport. Following his arrest, the man was transferred to the Anti-Human Trafficking Circle Karachi for further legal proceedings.
