Women’s Pink Games start today

LAHORE : Women’s CM Punjab Pink Games 2024 will explode into action on May 2, 2024 (today) at the Punjab Stadium where Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz will be the chief guest at a colourful opening ceremony.

Punjab Minister for Youth Affairs Malik Faisal Ayub Khokhar, several members of provincial assembly, Secretary Youth Affairs Punjab Muzaffar Khan Sial, Director General Youth Affairs and Sports Punjab Pervez Iqbal, top sports figures including many Olympians will participate in the opening ceremony. Around 1,300 female athletes from 20 universities of the province will take part in march past. Besides this several entertaining programmes and performances will be presented on this occasion. Earlier, DG Sports Punjab Pervez Iqbal inspected the arrangements of First CM Punjab Pink Games at the Punjab Stadium on Wednesday.

Pervez Iqbal was accompanied by Director Youth Affairs Rana Nadeem Anjum, Director Sports Yasmeen Akhtar, Director Admin M Kaleem, Deputy Directors Zahoor Ahmed, Ata ur Rehman, Tariq Khanzada, Chief Sports Consultant Hafeez Bhatti and Administrator NPSC Gymnasium Hall Mustfa Shah during his inspection visit.

DG Sports visited different parts of Punjab Stadium and directed the officials concerned to make best arrangements for the mega event which will continue till May 5.

Talking on this occasion, he said that First CM Punjab Pink Games are being organized in accordance with the vision of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz and under the supervision of Punjab Minister for Youth Affairs Malik Faisal Ayub Khokhar.

Pervez Iqbal said that around 1,300 female athletes from 20 universities will compete in seven sports disciplines including badminton, table tennis, archery, basketball, athletics, hockey and cricket (tape ball) during the 4-day mega event.

Meanwhile, nine administrative committees for the smooth organisation of First Chief Minister Punjab Pink Games has already been constituted.

DG Sports Punjab Pervez Iqbal is the convener of Event Organising Committee while Sports Competition Conducting Committee is working under the supervision of Director Sports Yasmeen Akhtar.

Director Admin M Kaleem is the convener of four committees, which include, Accommodation Committee, Tabulation and Evaluation Committee, Electronic Print and Social Media Committee, and Artwork and Detailed Branding Committee.

Deputy Director Atta ur Rehman is responsible for the working of Documents Scrutiny Committee. Similarly, Security Committee and General Grievance Committees have also been constituted for organising the mega Pink Games in a befitting manner.
