PO involved in MPA’s murder killed in encounter

GUJRANWALA: A proclaimed offender involved in the murder of MPA Rana Shamshad and two other people was killed in an encounter with Khiali police on Saturday.
On information of a robbery, police raided the area to arrest the dacoits. Seeing police, the dacoits opened fire on them. Police also retaliated. As a result, dacoit Tariq Patwari was killed on the spot while his accomplice managed to escape. According to police, Tariq Patwari was involved in the triple murder of MPA Rana Shamshad, his son Shahbaz and friend Mehmood, which took place in Kamoke police limits in 2015.
THIEF INJURES YOUTH: A thief injured a youth for capturing him red-handed here on Saturday.
Accused Ashraf was trying to steal a goat from the house of Sultan when a youth, Mohsin, caught him red-handed. To it, accused Ashraf injured him with the blows of a sharp-edged weapon. Hearing noise, the people rushed to the spot and started chasing the accused. The people managed to overpower the accused and injured him badly. Police are investigating.
DEMO AGAINST POLICE: Dozens of people staged a demonstration in front of the CPO Office for not arresting the accused involved in a double murder case on Saturday.
They were chanting slogans against police. They demanded early arrest of the accused. The protesters alleged that PML-N leader Ejaz Proya had murdered Shan and Faryad in Ahmadmnagar while police were not taking action against the accused. Later, on assurance of police high-ups of soon arresting the accused, the protesters dispersed.
17 GUESTS FAINT: As many as 17 people fainted after taking poisonous meal at Kachi Fattomand on Saturday.
A ceremony was arranged at the house of Siddique in which the guests were entertained with Baryani. After eating it, 17 people, including Siddique, Hamza, Iqbal, Amir, Maryam, Fareeha, Hina, Saba, Noreen and Mafia, fainted. They were shifted to the DHQ Hospital.
